Here are some screenshots from Reverse the Polarity. Jon was initially reluctant to pose as the Doctor in the Edinburgh Streets, till he was informed that there were still original Police Boxes present.

Filming in Edinburgh sparked off some of Jon's war-time memories of that city...

"I was on a ship called 'The Hood'... and I was on leave. And up here's the steps which are the Waverley Steps right? ...The wind used to blow up those steps at a prodigious speed and people were hurled up these steps, into the road, and run over by buses with monotonous regularity because it was black-out.

Now I was on leave, and sailors - lower deck sailors - always keep everything in their caps. They have their watchcard, they have their money - they slide it all into two little pockets inside their sailor's caps... And as I came up these Waverley Steps the wind went "whoosh"... and my hat went. Now this is pitch blackness - you cannot see your hand in front of your face - and my hat went with all my money, my watchcard , everything I possesed.

So there I was without my hat - improperly dressed and could be promptly arrested - no money, no watchcard, nothing. No identity papers. So I was absolutely heart broken, completely disconsolate. And in the darkness I thought I must make for the hotel, at least they'll let me in, and I walked down the road... I always found walking in the gutter was better because your foot can touch the edge and tell you were you are and believe me, in the blackout this was black. And as I walked along like that and my foot went and I thought "I've touched something". I bent down and it was my cap! I put my hand in and there was all my money, my watchcard, everything else. On it went , the strap went under my chin and I then had a great holiday!"
